This half term we will be inspired by non-fiction texts about Crime and Punishment but also, the tales of Robin Hood through the story The Outlaw by Michael Morpurgo in our reading opportunities. We will start by writing a balanced argument about whether people should be able to take punishment of crime into their own hands. We will also be exploring the Highwayman by Alfred Noyes looking at the perspective of all of the characters and writing a detailed character narrative based on the end of the poem.

At Home: Even though your child is in year 5, it is vital for you to listen to them read at home aloud at least three times a week. At Bredon Hancock’s we promote a love of reading throughout the school and it really does make a difference to their success in school if we have your full support with this at home.
