The Day Louis Got Eaten by John Fardell

To further support our learning, we will be using the text 'The Day Louis Got Eaten'. We will explore how to make our sentences more interesting by using varied openers, conjunctions and selecting appropriate vocabulary. We will further embed our understanding of capital letters and full stops. Our end outcome is to retell the story, with a twist!

Meerkat Christmas by Emily Gravett

We will explore how to write a letter, using the text 'Meerkat Christmas' by Emily Gravett. We will explore the different components of a letter, the language that can be used in a letter and how to use our learnt sentence structure in a different style of writing.

Focus Author

Our focus author this half term is Alex Falase-Koya. He has been writing since he was a teenager and was a winner of Spread the Word’s 2019 London’s Writers Awards for YA and Children’s. We will be reading his debut series, based on Marv, but he was also a writer for The Breakfast Club Adventures books with Marcus Rashford.
