Forces and Magnets

We will be learning:

  • to recognise what forces are and the different types of forces
  • that some forces require contact between two objects but others do not
  • what friction is and how it works
  • that magnets have two poles and that they can repel or attract depending on which poles are closest to each other
  • which materials are magnetic and which ones are not
  • the different uses that magnets have

We will be observing and investigating:

  • how objects move on different surfaces and the role friction plays in this
  • how magnets work
  • which materials are magnetic
