Maths

Time:

Our first unit in Maths will be time. We will consolidate our learning relating to o'clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to, before moving on to telling the time to the 5 minutes. Our key learning will be:

  • Telling the time to quarter past and quarter to.
  • Telling the time to 5 minutes.
  • Identifying minutes in an hour.
  • Identifying hours in a day.

 

Statistics:

In this unit of work, we will explore different ways to present data. We have previously explored this in our Computing work, so this will consolidate our learning further. Our key learning will be:

  • Make tally charts.
  • Explore and interpret tables.
  • Explore and interpret block diagrams.
  • Draw and interpret pictograms (1-1).
  • Draw and interpret pictograms (2, 5 and 10).

 

Position and Direction:

In this unit of work, we will explore position and direction. We will learn the correct vocabulary to talk about position, learn how to describe movements and turns and apply this learning to shape patterns with turns. Our key leaning will be:

  • Language of position.
  • Describe movement.
  • Describe turns.
  • Shape patterns with turns.
