Writing to Inform:

In English, we will be using the books 'The Buildings that Made London' and 'World of Cities'. We will explore how to create a non-chronological report, focusing on the capital cities of London and Mexico City. We will explore the following features:

- Effective layout;

- Formal tone;

- Third person;

- Present tense;

- Technical vocabulary;

- Comparative vocabulary;

- Cohesive devises.

In Reading, we will continue to work on our eight key reading skills: word choice, word meaning, relationship, prediction, comparison, inference, retrieval and summarising. The children will be exposed to a wide range of fiction and non-fiction texts and will be given opportunities to practise their skills in tasks. Our class author this half term will be Onjali Q Rauf.
