History
In History this half term, our focus will be on the Anglo-Saxons. We will be exploring the key question 'How hard was it to invade and settle in Britain?'. To help us explore our enquiry question, we will develop our knowledge of why people invaded and settled in Britain and learn about Anglo-Saxon beliefs and the spread of Christianity. We will then assess the contributions that the Anglo-Saxons made to modern Britain.
PE
In PE we will be learning football and dance. In our football sessions, we will be developing our dribbling, passing, attacking and defending skills. In our dance lessons, we will be creating dances in relation to a theme. We will also develop our use of counting and rhythm to help us stay in time.
Music
Our musical spotlight is 'More Musical Styles'. We will learn about dynamics and explore changes in dynamics in the songs we listen to.
DT
In DT, we are looking at the digital world in relation to wearable technology. We will be developing our skills of researching and evaluating before designing our own product which will use code and programming to control it.
Art
In art, we will be exploring the fabric of nature. We will start by using the theme of the rainforest to help inspire us to create mood boards and abstract drawings. We will then move on to exploring textile techniques used to develop patterns which we will then use to create our final piece.
Computing
Our computing focus will be branching databases. We will develop our understanding of what a branching database is and how to create one. We'll use yes/no questions to gain an understanding of attributes and how to use them to sort objects.
