This term we will be focussing on writing to inform and writing to entertain. We will be creating a comparison of two cities using several beautiful books to inspire our writing; Wild City · Meet the animals who share our city spaces by Ben Hoare, A World of Cities by James Brown and The Buildings that made London by David Long. We will take inspiration from all three of these books and using our geographical skills compare and contrast them. We will also be composing a description on the gripping book High Rise Mystery by Sharna Jackson.
Reading is key still at home. These are a wonderful cohort and as I mentioned to a lot of you at parents’ evening reading is key. Not just the reading itself but the high-quality book talk you have with your children after reading. Please can you make sure you are reading aloud with your child at least three times a week. It will have such and impact on their reading and writing in school.
