Chinese New Year
In Year 3, we have celebrated Chinese New Year. We learnt about why Chinese New Year is celebrated and our Chinese zodiac signs. We made our own Chinese New Year pictures and enjoyed a Chinese New Year inspired dance workshop where we learnt a lion dance.
Maths
We have learning about multiplication and division and have used manipulatives to support our learning.
We have been focusing on dividing 2-digit and one digit numbers and have used base 10 and lollipop sticks to help us do this.
Music
We have enjoyed our music lessons so far this half term and we are having fun developing our musical skills using the glockenspiel. We have even had a special music workshop with our piano teacher, Mr Komor where we got to create music with the boom whackers.
DT
In DT, we have enjoyed making our vegetable tarts.
Art
In art we have enjoyed becoming 'Growing Artists'. We have explored 'frottage', 'shading' and 'detailed observations'. The work of Max Ernst, Carl Linnaeus, Charles Darwin and Georgia O'Keefe has inspired us.
