Science

Forces:

In Science, we will be exploring the concepts of ‘Forces’. Within this unit of work, the children will explore that unsupported objects fall towards the Earth because of the force of gravity acting between the Earth and the falling object. They will also identify the effects of air resistance, water resistance and friction. This will be explored and investigated through a number of different practical experiments and activities. They will recognise that some mechanisms including levers, pulleys and gears allow a smaller force to have a greater effect. We will also explore scientists such as Galileo Galilei and Isaac Newton and how their findings helped to develop the theory of gravitation.
