Maths

This half term we will be looking at Place value within 10.  In particular recognising numerals and the written word representing that number, 1 more and more less and working on number lines. 

We will be using the language of less than, greater than, and equal to. We will be sorting, comparing and ordering numbers.

Our key questions will include:

• What is the same about all the objects in the set?

• What is different about the sets?

• Can you find an object that belongs to this set?

• Can you find an object that does not belong to this set? Why does it not belong?

• Can you think of a different way to sort the objects?

These are very important skills that give the children a solid base for future learning and consolidate reception learning.
