History:

In History, we will be comparing Ancient Maya and Anglo-Saxons civilisations. We will identify who the Maya were, when they lived, how they settled in the rainforest and what were their beliefs. We will also explore evidence of archaeological remains to identify what this tells us about ancient cities, before noting similarities and differences between the Maya civilisation and the Anglo-Saxons
Design and Technology:

In our DT lessons, we will explore how bridge designs and materials affect strength and stability. We will explore different types of bridges and describe their differences, before exploring how to use different materials to create a truss bridge. Finally, we will evaluate our finished bridges, before testing them to see how well they work.
P.E:

In our Rugby lessons, we will develop an understanding of the attacking and defending principles of invasion games. The children will think about how they use skills, strategies and tactics to outwit the opponent. In our Yoga lessons, we will learn poses that challenge our balance, flexibility and strength. We will use our breath to hold poses, move within poses and transition from pose to pose.
Music:

In our Music lessons, we will be learning how to play the ukulele. We will be basing our learning around eighteen songs, which takes the children from playing open strings to songs that use three cords. The children will learn the cords C, F, G7 and G.
Computing:

In this unit, we will use physical computing to explore the concept of selection in programming, through the use of the Crumble programming environment. The children will be introduced to a microcontroller (Crumble controller) and will learn how to connect and program components through the application of their existing programming knowledge.
Jigsaw:

In Jigsaw, we will be focusing on Dreams and Goals. We will explore different jobs and careers, and the steps that need to be taken in order to get there. We will also explore the difference between our goals and the goals of children from other cultures and how it is important to support everyone to reach their goals.
French:

In French, the children children will be looking at the features of a town or a village. We will learn how to say words for the different buildings and areas that you might find. The children will begin to learn positional vocabulary.
