Being Special: Where do we belong?
We are learning:
- Retell religious stories making connections with personal experiences
- Share and record occasions when things have happened in their lives that made them feel special
- Recall simply what happens at a traditional Christian infant baptism and dedication
- Recall simply what happens when a baby is welcomed into a religion other than Christianity
We explored what happens at a Christian Baptism and we had a wonderful time role-playing a Baptism ourselves! We also made churches with construction, drew our own Baptism pictures and made key items from playdoh.
We found out about Baptism and how it welcomes children into a church family. We looked at a variety of Baptism cards and made our own Welcome cards.
We shared the Bible story of Jesus blessing the children from the Gospel of Mark.
We shared a lovely children's book, which explains Psalm 139 from the Bible. We talked about how wonderfully we are all made and about how unique and special we are.
