Wider curriculum

Geography

What is it like to live in the UK? We will be learning about the four countries that make up the UK and to begin to make simple comparisons about our local area and an area of the UK.

DT:

Structures

The children will be designing and creating a structure out of card.  They will be making windmills that spin.

Physical Development

Striking and field games

In this unit the children will be playing games where there are two teams, one, the batting team, try to score points and the other, the fielding team, try to stop the batting team from scoring.

Athletics

In this unit pupils will develop skills required in athletic activities such as running at different speeds, changing direction, jumping and throwing.

Music

This unit is: ‘Let’s Perform Together’. The children will sing, dance and perform together a variety of songs they have learnt over the year.

PSHE – Jigsaw

This will look at how our body changes as we grow in an age appropriate and positive way

Computing

Children will be introduced to on-screen programming through Scratch Jr. They will explore the way a project looks by investigating sprites and backgrounds. They will use programming blocks to use, modify, and create programs.
