What is the good news Jesus brings?

In this unit, we will focus on how Jesus was Good News as he brought friendship to the friendless, forgiveness to all and peace. Children will learn about how Jesus' teaching and being an example of good news challenges how Christians try to live now.

By the end of our unit, we will:

• Tell stories from the Bible and recognise a link with a concept of 'Gospel' or good news;
• Give clear, simple accounts of what Bible texts mean to Christians;
• Recognise that Jesus gives instructions to people about how to behave;
• Give at least 2 examples of ways in which Christians follow the teachings studied about forgiveness and peace and bringing good news to the friendless.
