Multiplication and Division:

In Year 3, children are introduced to the grid method to multiple and the formal method for dividing (also known as the bus stop method). This term, the children will cover the following areas: 

  • Multiples of 10;
  • Related calculations;
  • Multiply a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number - with and without exchange;
  • Link multiplication and division;
  • Divide a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number - without exchange, flexible partitioning, with remainders;
  • Scaling
  • How many ways?

Length and Perimeter:

We will also be learning about length and perimeter. In our lessons, we will cover the following areas:

  • How to measure in millimetres, centimetres and metres;
  • Equivalent lengths;
  • Comparing lengths;
  • Adding and subtracting lengths;
  • Identifying what is perimeter?;
  • Measuring and calculating perimeter.
