Addition and Subtraction

In Maths, we will first be focusing on developing our addition and subtraction skills. We will work on consolidating our number bonds to ten and number bonds to one hundred before moving on to adding by making ten, adding three one-digit numbers, adding to the next ten and adding across ten. We will then subtract across ten and from ten. As we move through the unit, we will be introduced to strategies to add two 2-digit numbers and subtract two 2-digit numbers.

Geometry - Shape

In our shape unit, we will begin by recognising 2-D and 3-D shapes. We will count the sides and vertices on 2D shape, identify lines of symmetry and sort 2-D shapes based on their properties. We will then count the faces, edges and vertices on 3-D shapes before sorting these shapes based on their properties.
