Art and Design

We want our pupils to love art and design. We want them to have no limits to what their ambitions are and grow up wanting to be artists, illustrators, painters, graphic designers, or printmakers! We want them to embody our core values and be creative. We want to develop a keen eye for detail.

Our aims for Art and Design. 

We aim for our artists to:

• Generate ideas and using sketchbooks, taking inspiration from a range of artists

• Making skills: drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, mixed media, craft techniques and sculpture
• Formal elements: colour, form, line, pattern, shape, texture and tone
• Knowledge of artists' work and techniques
• Evaluating: critiquing their own work and that of others
