In English this half term, we will be using the text 'Beowulf' to support our writing. Our focus within this unit of work is to add description into our writing. We will start by exploring the text of Beowulf and identifying similarities and differences between that and the BBC animation, we will then recall the key  events in the story. We will then learn how using interesting vocabulary, expanded noun phrases and prepositional phrases can help us to include description in our writing to capture the reader's attention. 

Our end of unit writing piece, will be for us to write our own ending to the story of Beowulf, applying everything that we have learnt.
