Writing to Entertain:

In our English lessons, we will be story writing, using the book Naughty Bus by Jan and Jerry Oke as our stimulus. We will be developing our writing, reading and grammar skills through this text, before we create our own version of the story. We will be exploring the sequence of the story and how the information links together - sequencing is one of the key skills that we develop in Year 2. We will also continue to explore how to use punctuation correctly including: full stops, capital letters, exclamation marks and questions marks and explore how to use different forms of sentences.

Writing to Inform:

We will also explore how to create an information text, based on our focus country, Kenya. We will explore the structure of the text and how to organise our information into sections. We will also explore grammatical features such as apostrophes and use conjunctions to extend our sentences and add additional information.
