The Day the Crayons Quit

 

In English this term, we are using the text 'The Day the Crayons Quit'. Our focus in this unit is writing to persuade. We will be exploring features of persuasive writing, including opinions, exaggeration, emotive language and rhetorical questions. We will learn about the importance of conjunctions and how we can apply a range of conjunctions to extend our writing. Throughout our unit, we will learn how to write in role of a character and in an informal style. We will consolidate our learning and apply our skills through writing a persuasive letter in the style of 'The Day the Crayons Quit'.
