In English this term, we are writing to entertain. The children have learnt a number of skills this year including extending the range of sentences with more than one clause using conjunctions, using fronted adverbials, choosing nouns for clarity and extending the range of vocabulary that can be applied within our work. This term, we will be using  Arthur and the Golden Rope. The children will be refining their description skills by applying effective vocabulary to describe a character and a setting, before applying this into a story. We will also learn how to punctuate speech accurately. We will also continue to develop our understanding of the formation of a sentence to ensure they are grammatically accurate.
