How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth:

This term, we are learning how to write to inform. Firstly, we will be writing a set of instructions based on the text 'How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth' by Michelle Robinson and Kate Hindley. We will be retrieving information from the text before identifying features, language, structure and presentation is used and contributed to meaning. We will explore how to use imperative verbs, prepositions, adverbs and a wide variety of vocabulary. Finally, we will learn how to plan to write our own set of instructions.

The Secrets of Stonehenge

We will also use the text 'The Secrets of Stonehenge' by Mick Manning and Brita Granstrom. Our aim to create an information text to present information about the secrets of a place and its history over time. We will continue to explore presentation and structure, as well as fronted adverbials, paragraph construction and use of conjunctions.
