Peter Whitehead

Chair of Governing Body,

Bredon Hancock’s First School

Peter is a retired Army Officer who came to live in the village in 2004. Having enjoyed a full career with the Army he joined General Dynamics United Kingdom Limited where he remained for a further decade before retiring in 2011. He was appointed as a Foundation Governor and joined the Board of Governors at Bredon Hancock’s First School in late 2012. Since joining he has been a member of both the School’s Premises and Finance committees. When the previous Chair of Governors decided to stand down in June 2015 Peter agreed to take on the role of Joint Chair of Governors with Sally Cooper.

Prior to joining the Governing body Peter had regular contact with the school in his role as a Church Warden at St Giles and as the Chairman of the Bredon Branch of the Royal British Legion. Education has always been an interest. Children are our future generations and deserve the absolute best from the education they receive. To be in a position to influence this aspect at our village school is a great privilege.
