Welcome to our Mental Health and Wellbeing page!
Here at Bredon Hancock's First School, we understand the importance of good mental health and well being.
Over the past few years we have tried lots of new and exciting things to help us be more resilient, positive and happy, including "Mindful Me Club", "Tea, Talk and Timeout" sessions, "Power of Positivity" work and lots of focused curriculum experiences in the classrooms!
We are constantly looking at finding new ways of letting off steam, relaxing and managing our emotions more effectively. Since the Covid-19 pandemic started in March 2020, this is even more important for our pupils, staff and community. We introduced "Zones of Regulation" in 2020 and have invested in training and resources for this aspect of our work in school, and continue to do so. Our children are learning to recognise how they feel and understand how they can best manage these emotions.
We know that we all have bad days or times and situations where we feel anxious or emotional. It is important to have them as it helps us to know when we have had a good day. Knowing how to deal with disappointment, sadness and anger can be hard but this is part of life and we are supporting our children to do this better.
