Beth Warren, Parent Governor

Tell us a little bit about yourself:

I moved to Bredon with my husband in 2009 and since living here we started a family and now have two daughters. I grew up in Wales and left to attend the University of East Anglia in Norwich to complete my degree in Chemistry and then my teacher training. I’ve enjoyed a successful career in teaching, which I still adore even after 20 years! Before we had children, my husband and I were always busy travelling or playing sport. I still keep myself fit by mainly running and travelling these days is mostly in our campervan.

Why did you want to take on the role of Parent Governor?

Every day I return home from work I hear my daughter say that she loves school, and that’s the way it should be for her and for every child attending Bredon Hancock’s School. All of the staff at Bredon Hancock’s work tirelessly for our children, despite the behind the scenes challenges that most parents never see or hear about. I know first hand that teaching can sometimes seem like a thankless task, especially when dealing with the less motivating and occasional negative aspects. I’ve taken on the role of Parent Governor to support Mrs Millar and her team of staff and governors so that our community school continues to provide our children with a great education and fantastic opportunities.
